Deepika Padukone, the extremely gorgeous and very talented model-turned-actress is the daughter of the former World Champion and All England Badminton Champion Prakash Padukone and mother Ujjala Padukone. Although she played badminton in her school days and reached the status of state level, however, she was more focused on building her career in modeling world and the silver screen. Deepika Padukone is now also selected as the brand ambassador of Levis Strauss Jeans.

Born on January 5, 1986, Deepika Padukone made her debut in the glamorous world of modeling. Her birth took place in Copenhagen, Denmark and then later on she along with her whole family moved to Bangalore situated in the Indian state of Karnataka.She did her academics from Bangalore and was a member of the Badminton club run by her father. She has appeared in different commercials like Liril soap, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up toothpaste, Limca and so on. She came into limelight in the international market by appearing as the new cover girl for Maybelline. She has received many accolades and awards in her modeling career. At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards she was awarded as the Model of the Year and playboy magazine cover winner. Deepika Padukone studied from Sophia`s High School, Bangalore and did her graduation from Mount Carmel College. She has also undergone formal training in Bharatnatyam. She starred in the music video of Himmesh Reshamiya in the song "Naam Hain Tera" in "Aap Ka Suroor". She made her debut in the Hindi movie Industry opposite Shahrukh Khan in the movie, "Om Shanti Om" where she portrayed dual character. She appeared in double-role where in the first part she acted as a top-notch film acted as a top-notch film actress whereas in the second part she was a normal individual who was an ardent follower and admirer of Shahrukh Khan. The movie was directed by Farah Khan, which became quite a big success at the box-office.
