Born on June 9, 1976, Amisha Patel is one of the gorgeous and glamorous celebrities in Hindi cinema. She is the daughter of Amit and Asha Patel. Her brother Ashmit Patel is also a noted film actor. She is also the granddaughter of Rajni Patel who is a renowned lawyer. She graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. She then worked for Morgan Stanley. After returning to India she joined Satyadev Dubey`s theatre group and began acting in plays.

She made her acting debut with the movie, "Kaho Na Pyaar Hain" opposite Hritik Roshan who also incidentally made his debut in the same movie. Following her grand success in the movie, she got many offers from different movies. She did many films after "Kaho Na Pyaar Hain", however, not many got the success like her first one. In the year 2002 she was nominated in the Filmfare Best Actress Award category for "Humraaz". In the same year she was nominated in Samsung IIFA "Best Actress" category for the same movie.

Amisha Patel received Filmfare Special Performance Award in 2001 for "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" and also the Jury award in 2002. One of her most notable performances came with the movie, "Humraaz" opposite Akshaye Khanna and Bobby Deol. She played the character of a selfish girlfriend of Akshaye Khanna. She marries Bobby Deol to grab his wealth and properties. However, Bobby`s honesty and sincerity changed her mind and she fell in love with Bobby. In the movie "Aap Ki Khatir", she portrayed the role of an innocent girl who is loved by her sister Priyanka Chopra`s lover Dino Morea. Some of her notable movies include, "Suno Sasurji" opposite Aftab Shivdasani, "Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage", "Yeh hai Jalwa", "Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar" and many more. On a personal front Amisha Patel is a very simple girl who hates hypocrisy. She is a shy girl with a good sense of humor and believes that her family is the biggest strength for her.

In the recently released movie, "Bhul Bhulaiya" she appeared again and portrayed the character of a rejected adopted girl. She played her character to perfection and was praised for her performance. Amisha Patel is currently busy in doing a film with the new Kunal Kohli/Yash Raj project in which she will be seen with Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan.
