The Dogpa Lama, Serzang Richen of Kham region of Tiber established the Tayul Monastery in the 17th century AD. It is exactly located around six kilometer from Keylong in the Bhaga valley.
The monastery boasts a twelve feet tall statue of Padmasambhava, hundred million Mani wheels, which turn by it on extremely sacred events. In 1886 the wheels turned by itself. There is also a library in the monastery which houses `Kangyur` and `Thankas` reflecting the life of Lord Buddha.
