S.R. Veeraraghavan is an eminent Carnatic music vocalist who has specialized in the Devar Namas of Purandaradasa.

S.R. Veeraraghavan has been regarded as one amongst the talented young carnatic vocalist of new generation. He belongs to a family of musicians who resides in South Arcot District in Tamil Nadu state. He was born at Cuddalore. SR Veeraraghavan has received his initial training under Prof. L. R. Raja (Professor of music department in Annamalai University). Later on he went on training under Padma Vibushan Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. S. Ramanathan at Chennai. His specialization areas are the Devar Namas of Purandara Dasa and Thiru Arupta of Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal.

Career of S.R. Veeraraghavan
Throughout his professional musical career he has performed at many occasions some of which were highly acclaimed. Life in Music for S.R. Veeraraghavan
SR Veeraraghavan has also composed music for All India Radio on Shi Raghavendra Swami Jeeva Charithram and Sadguru Sadasive Brahmendra Jeeva Charithram in the year 1998 and 2003 correspondingly. Currently for different devotional cassettes and dance ballet he is composing music. For U. K and Melbourne Muruga Potri for Australia he has presented his voice with his guru Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna (Thyagaraja Ballet for US and Kadirkama Kuravanji. All these performances done by him were solo performances. He has been elected by the Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram of the Government of Tamil Nadu and sponsored to perform concerts in major sabhas of state of Tamil Nadu in the year 2001 and performed in Courtallam Saral Vizha in the year 2003.

He has been given programmes in prime slots in various leading sabhas in Chennai. He has performed in the year 2005 at Bharatiya Music, Matunga, Mumbai; Music Triangle, Kalina, Mumbai; Gana Kala Vidyalayam Goregaon, Mumbai; Dombivili Fine Arts; Ghatkopar Rasiga Ranjini, Mumbai; Rajamundhry Thyagaraja Sabha; Dance Ballet at Hyderabad at Sica; Trichur Sabha; Ernakulam Ramar Madam; Siva Temple Ernakulam.

Awards and Recognition for S.R. Veeraraghavan
As recognition to the expertise he has been conferred the award of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bagavathar Emdowment prize for the praiseworthy performance in Krishna Gana Sabha at Chennai; Pannisai Mamani from Thirukovilur Pannpattu Kazhagam presented by Violin Maestro Dr. Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan; Maiden CD `Raghava Raagam` released on 12.12.2004 by Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna; CD composed and sung by him for Sunshine Muruga Temple, Australia; CD sung with Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna `The Quest` for Singapore; Dance Ballet "Thyegaraja"; Kathirgama Kuravanchi CD for United Kingdom under the music of Rajkumar Bharathi; Punniyakoti - a thematic ballet for California; Audio Cassette composed and sung by him `Ambala Patte Arul Pattu` - A Thiruarutpa; Presented his voice recently for Thrimoorthy - A dance ballet composed by mridangam maestro Karaikudi Mani for Australia; Music directed for a CD "Legendry memories for musician Suryaprakash".
