Shweta Jhaveri has been attributed with `a magnetic voice, soulful aesthetics, technical brilliance, refreshing style and mesmeric quality that touches the heart`. She has been reckoned as the only classical vocalist who holds the mastery over both the Hindustani classical vocal and world music. She performs the north Indian classical vocal in the genre of Khayal. Tappa, thumri, tarana and Bhajans are also executed in their excellent ways through rendition of Shweta Jhaveri.

Shweta Jhaveri was born at Ahmedabad-India. She has been ruling the world of Indian classical music since her 19 years of age. She has started fetching the honor as a pioneer vocalist from the years of her mid twenties. She has presented Hindustani classical music in its purest forms. Shweta Jhaveri has also attempted to incorporate her innovative ideas, creativity into her concerts & recordings that she has composed with world musicians. She has been inducted to the world of music at the tender age of 6 years when she came under the umbrella of expert maestro late Pt.Vilasrao Khandekar of Kirana gharana. She has been receiving training under the Kirana Gharana for 15 years at Ahmedabad-India. Shweta Jhaveri has specialized in `Prabandh` under which the north Indian vocal genre of Khayal, Dhrupad, Dhamar, Tappa, Thumri,Tarana, Hori falls in.
Afterwards Shweta Jhaveri obtained her masters degree in Indian vocal music. Shweta Jhaveri has further expanded her repertoire in the Khayal form under the guidance of illustrious vocalist of Mewati gharana Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj-ji. Apart from exhibiting her brilliance in the field of music, she also proved her excellence in the field of academics. She holds a graduate degree in English literature. Shweta Jhaveri has executed in an extensive manner throughout India, USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Bangladesh, Dubai, Mauritius, Singapore. She has also bagged the honor of being the first Hindustani vocalist who has performed in Argentina in the year 2001.
Shweta Jhaveri also gives tutelage and for that reason she conducts Spring and Summer school classes in the BayArea, CA. she has also fetched the attraction of students from different parts of the world. At the esteemed AliAkbar College of Music, SanRafael USA, she was invited to serve as the guest lecturer. She has also sung for the Indian national TV and feature films. Shweta Jhaveri has also bagged the honor of being the first & youngest Indian classical vocalist. She has also bagged the honor of being interviewed by the BBC, UK 1989 and the NPR, USA.
Acknowledging Shweta Jhaveri`s talent she has been conferred many accolades both in India and abroad. Shweta Jhaveri in very recent time has been conferred the American Society of composers authors publishers - ASCAPlus for classical CD Avishkar in the year 2005 & in the year 2007, she has been conferred award for world music lyrics from NewYork USA. In the very same year Shweta Jhaveri also won the Gujarat State academy award from India for Indian classical vocal music.
Shweta Jhaveri has been the founder member of `Cosmic Khayals`, a music company that features her music & lyrics. Cosmic Khayals founded in the year 1999. This company is the first music company that is founded by a Hindustani classical vocalist. It published her original Indian classical and world music. She has founded the company when she was only at her 30 years of age. `Cosmic Khayals` is standing like a stalwart with the aim of `preserving Indian classical music & exploring world music`. Cosmic Khayals (ASCAP) presents `Shweta as a North Indian classical vocalist and also as a singer/songwriter/composer`. Shweta Jhaveri has also founded a record label 21st Century Cosmos music. Since the year 2003, it has produced - promulgated Shweta`s Indian classical vocal CDs Avishkar & Khayal Saga as well as world music Cds Anahita & Huge. Today in the fields of Indian classical vocal & World vocal music, Shweta Jhaveri has been regarded as a musician par excellence, who always magnetized her audiences with her execution.
