The highest peak of the Saltoro Mountains, which is a sub range of the Karakoram Range of mountains, is the Saltoro Kangri. It lies on the southern side of the Siachen Glacier.
It is located in the distant areas of Karokoram range and ranks thirty -first in terms of height in the world. It is located at an altitude of 7742 metres (25,400 feet) above mean sea level. The name Saltoro Kangri means Yellow mountains.
