Khajjiar Lake
The Khajjiar Lake in Himachal Pradesh is a sacred lake situated at an altitude of 1,900 metres above sea level.

Khajjiar LakeKhajjiar Lake is situated in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh at an average elevation of 1,900 metres above mean sea level. It is located at a distance of sixteen kilometers from Dalhousie and twenty-five kilometers from Chamba.

A particular type of weed called vacha densely covers the shores of the lake. The lake depends on small streams and is a main source of water for the Kalatpe Sanctuary located in the Chamba district.

The local people of the area consider the Khajjiar Lake as a sacred lake. There is a temple near the lake, which is the consecrated seat of Khajji Nag, a serpent god from which the lake gets its name. Every year a fair is held here.
