Deepa Srinivasan is an eminent carnatic vocalist who has been the recipient of the Government of India Scholarship

Deepa SrinivasanDeepa Srinivasan has been inducted to the world of music at the tender age of 5 years at Mumbai. Later on she continued her tuition under the expert guidance of Valliyur Sri. R. Gurumurthy, who regulated her into a concert vocalist. Under Smt. T. Rukmini, Deepa Srinivasan has further trained in advancement of music.

Early Years of Deepa Srinivasan
From the tender age of 12 years, Deepa Srinivasan has started giving performances on the stage. For her rendition of Ragam Thaanam Pallavi at the tender age of l3, she has been accompanied by Sri. K.J. Jesudass. Through out her musical career Deepa Srinivasan has performed at Bengaluru, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Karaikudi, Mallur and so on. She has also performed in different sabhas like Vidwath Samajam, YACM, Bharath Kalachar, Kapali Fine Arts, Mylapore Fine Arts, Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Naada Inbum in Chennai; and in sabhas like Gayana Samaj, Indian Institute of World Culture, Yuvanika, Jayanagar Cultural Association in Bangalore. In places like Austin, College Station, Houston and Dallas in the US, she has also executed. Deepa Srinivasan

Recognition for Deepa Srinivasan
Deepa Srinivasan has been conferred the Government of India Scholarship from the year 1989 to1996 awarded by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training. She has been declared "Best Vocalist" of the Spirit of Youth Series, by Music Academy and bagged the Ambujam Krishna Award for the same.
