Moonmoon Sen is one of the most gorgeous and appealing actresses that have ever worked in the Hindi cinema industry. She is the daughter of the legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen. She has two daughters Raima Sen and Riya Sen who are also renowned actresses in their own rights. Her father Mr. Dibanath Sen was the son of one of the wealthiest businessmen of Calcutta, Adinath Sen. Moonmoon sen was educated from Darjeeling and at Loreto House in Kolkata and graduated from Somerville College, University of Oxford.
Moonmoon Sen started her career in films and televisions after she got married and became a mother. She has appeared in more than 60 films and over 40 television serials. She made her debut with the film "Andar Bahar" in 1984. Her role in the movie became quite a controversy amongst the audiences and film critics. She has appeared in many hit Bengali movies, which further helped her in getting roles in Hindi films as well. She was moderately successful in Hindi film industry, however, was more successful in the Bengali industry. She received awards such as the Nandi State Award, the Kalakendra Screen Award and the Bharat Nirman Award. After the movie "Zakhmi Dil" that released in the year 1994 she did not appear in films, however in 2003 she starred in the thriller "Kucch To Hai" which failed at the box-office.

Moonmoon Sen has also acted in a number of films in other regional languages like Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada as well as Marathi movies. Her performance in the Telugu film "Sirivennela" is considered as one of her best performances in her acting career that she was critically acclaimed and her work was extremely appreciated. She has also acted in some television serials as well as a couple of Bengali tele-films. Moon Moon Sen is part of three generational families from being mother to daughter to granddaughters who have all become established and well-known actors, something that is rare in Indian cinema or even in world cinema. Some of her notable movies include `Musafir`, `Woh Phir Aayegi`, `Tere Bina Kya Jeena`, `Jeevan Ek Sangharsh`, `Bow Barracks Forever` and so on. Although she has put on some weight and has become aged, however, her charm, beauty and seductiveness have still been the cynosure of many.
