Veer Kunwar Singh University is located in
Arrah ,
Bihar.It was established in the year 1992 by the Bihar University Act of 1976. The University was named after great freedom fighter Veer Kunwar Singh.It is a Public University and recognised by the University Grant Commission.The University is responsible to provide education in the districts of
Bhojpur,
Buxar, Kaimur and Rohtas.
There are 37 affiliated colleges to the university. The University has also 20 constituent colleges and 3 law colleges. The University offers post graduate courses in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Commerce, History, Economics, Sociology etc through 20 departments.
The University also conducts some job oriented courses such as B.C.A., B.B.A., B.Sc. in Bio-technology and B.Sc. in Industrial Fisheries to meet the demand of the present age. The University authority also wants to start B.Ed., M.B.A, M.C.A., and M.Sc. in Biotechnology courses from 2006-07 sessions. The University also promotes quality research works.
