Irresistible beauty, superb acting skills, enamoring persona is what describes this veteran actress of the Indian Television Industry to the hilt. Very few are aware of this fact that this brilliant actress did not have any plans of choosing the profession of acting. Instead she chose to do some modelling assignment to fund her trip to Boston for pursuing her degree in pilot training. However on the suggestion of Mulk Anand, the late ad filmmaker, she took up acting wholeheartedly as her profession and gifted the television industry the presence of a seasoned actress.

Not many people know that Niki Aneja Walia is the cousin of another brilliant small screen actor Parmeet Sethi. Soon after she decided to establish her footage in the world of acting showers offered on her like anything. Hugely hit shows like `Dastaan`, `Andhi Jaazbat Ki`, `Patang`, `Gharwali Uparwali`, `Piyaa Bina` and `Sea Hawks` earned her a huge round of accolades. Following that a freak accident on the sets of `Gharwali Uparwali` made her take the rapid decision of quitting acting. After that she tied the know with U.K. based marketing consultant Sonny Walia which gave her another strong reason to quit the profession of acting but destiny truly had some other plans for her and she received a call from Ajay Sinha for a role which any actor could not have turned down. In fact the role of Dr. Simran in `Astitva-Ek Prem Kahani` made her a household name.

Niki Aneja Walia herself claimed that the role of Dr. Simran itself was so lucrative that she could not resist the passion in her to grab the role. And somewhere deep in her heart she also cherished the desire of working with such a talented actor like Ajay Sinha. It was indeed an author-backed role, which was offered to her on a platter. She received huge acclaim for this performance of hers from across the nation. She herself claims that it was a dream role for her as the character itself was so composed and well balanced like her in real life. She further claimed in a recent interview that the amount of effort she had put in `Astitva` was not anything exceptional. Instead she rehearsed more on her earlier soap called `Gharwali Uparwali` where she was seen in a comic portrayal. At those times she used to stand in front of the camera and make faces making sure that she does not look bad at all. She claims that comedy is a serious job and the artists require adopting certain mannerisms.

Niki Aneja Walia also accepts the compliment of being a Madhuri Dixit-look alike. After the success of all her serials she has planned to become a full-fledged designer. She states that since her husband was very busy in work and she had also been in the industry long enough to gain knowledge of fashion she decided to design some western party wear blouses which she would be comfortable in wearing herself as well as launching it as her designer label. She also holds much grudge about the television industry. She claims that her show has been watched enough to boost up the TRPs as well as earn her an award but unfortunately the TRPs get rigged and the other less deserved actors take away the awards. The only consolation that she gets is from her fan who overwhelms her with their heart warming mails. She claims that now she does not need an award to know that she is a good actor. It is through the responses of her adorable fans that she gets honored each and every day. Well, it is indeed true that an actor with such huge potential cannot go unnoticed by the audiences and she is sure to win the hearts of the industry critics and get duly rewarded for her performances.
