By now the name of the very gorgeous and extremely talented actress Amita Chandekar has become very familiar with the small screen audiences. She is indeed one of the most glamorous faces of the telly words in the recent times. On-screen she is always seen pursuing the role of a coquettish brunette but if one gets to see her off-screen her calm and reticent demeanor will take him aback. Recently her fans will be impressed to see her in an absolute negative role in the recently launched Balaji saga `Kasturi`. However she claims that it is not a deliberate attempt on her part to pick up such roles and do justice to them. It all started when she made her television debut in `Kutumb` and since then it has been going on and on. She claims that roles with a grey shade give her much scope to perform.
Before making her foray into the television industry Amita Chandekar was into modeling and was quite a renowned name in the fashion circuits. Since her college days she used to take part in a lot of inter-collegiate fashion shows. She was also fortunate enough to bag the `Best Model` title.
Soon after she started getting showered with modeling offers. During one of the shows where one of the judge was the director of the show called `Kutumb` spotted her and told her to go ahead and audition for the popular soap `Kamal`. She had gone to the sets of `Kutumb` for the audition of `Kamal` and bagged two roles at once. She claims that she is pretty happy about her image in television and does not want to go running about to bag film-offers.
In the recent past the very talented Amita Chandekar was also seen in another hugely hit Balaji family saga `Kasamh Se`. In that soap she was essaying the character of Jay Walia`s (played by Ram Kapoor) girl friend. At the same time she was also playing the investigative cop Ashwini in `CID Special Bureau`, which was being broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television. She claimed in a recent interview, "I am enjoying both my character and really working very hard, getting good response for Special Bureau….". About the most memorable character in the short span of her acting career she claims that she has receoved much acclaim for the role of Malini in the hugely popular Zee show `Piya Ka Ghar`. Other soaps in which her character sketches made a significant contribution are `Quayamat` on DD, `Kamal` on Zee Television, `Kabhi Toh Milenge` on Sahara One and `Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat` on Sony Entertainment Television. About making it big in the Bollywood she is not too keen as she is happy with her career in the television industry.
On the personal front Amita Chandekar has been able to impress one and all by her gentility of character and made quite a number of friends in the industry including the popular celebrities like Narayani Shastri, Hiten and Gauri Tejwani, Yash and Gauri Tonk. She was alleged to have an affair with the very handsome television actor Kushal Punjabi but that chapter was closed in the recent past. Recently she is seeing the other television hunk Karan Patel of `Robbie Sabharwal` fame. They have been friends for a long time but it was recently that they found their soul mates in each other. Together they are also seen taking part in the third session celebrity dance show `Nach Baliye 3`. She claims that she has been very choosy about roles throughout her acting career and that is the reason one will find her roles to be full of impact. This brilliant actress is sure to go a long way in the coming times.
