She has been an active participant in a theater group in the past even before she appeared in the contest.

Her role in this soap was very intense as well as a mixture of both negative and positive shades and she meted it out brilliantly.
About her journey in the talent hunt `Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj` Gargi Sharma claimed in a recent interview that it was the stepping-stone to success for her. She was also judged the Best Dancer in the same talent hunt and soon after she bagged the offer to star in the popular Zee show `Piya Ka Ghar`.
About her acting flair Gargi Sharma claims that she has been associated with the stage right from the tender age of 3. She used to take part in a number of school plays and dance competitions and was always fascinated with the thought of participating on stage. When she enrolled in the college she became a member of the Drama Society where she met the noted theater personality of the capital of the Indian subcontinent. She also claimed that she had a great learning experience in that stage which had developed her as an excellent actress.
