Sri Venkateswara University is located at Tirupati in Andhra pradesh. The University was set up in the year 1954 under the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams .The main initiative was taken to establish the university was taken by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu.

The campus of the University acquires 1000 acres of land and houses beautiful buildings.The University has 8 constituent colleges including College of Arts ,College of Humanities ,Colleges of Biological and Earth Sciences,College of Mathematical and Physical sciences,College of commerce,Management and Information Sciemce ,College of International Studies and College of education and extension Studies.The University offers 71 postgraduate courses in various disciplines under 58 departments.Apart from that several Diploma and Certificate courses are conducted by the University.The College of Engineering under Sri Venkateswara University College is an autonomous institution which offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The University has also law department to cater higher education in legal studies.Apart from the University runs Centre for Studies in Peace and Non-violence in collaboration with Gandhi Smriti and Darsan Samithi,International Centre for Gandhian Studies and Research.Sri Venkateswara Oriental Research Institute was established in the year 1939 with a view to promote research work in Oriental philosophy.The University has also a well equipped library and computer center.
