An important river in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is the Parbati River. This river rises from the Man Talai Glacier below the Pin Parbat pass. After its birth the river flows in the north-northwest direction to west-southwest direction and passes through the temple town of Manikaran. The river merges with Beas River at Bhuntar, which is in the south of Kullu at a distance of ten kilometers.
The river valley is a route to various places namely, Lahul across Sara Umga La pass, Spiti opposite the Pin Parbati pass and the Debsa pass. There are several geothermal springs on the banks of the river at Manikaran and Khirganga.
