NTR University of Health Sciences is located at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.The University was established in 1986 by Sri N.T. Rama Rao,the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.Previously it was known as Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences.This is one of the first few Health Universities in India.

The University has been recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine , Medical Council of India , the Dental Council of India and Central Council of Homoeopathy and Indian Nursing Council.

The University offers several under graduate, Post-Graduate and diploma courses.There are also courses in Applied Nutrition, Modern Medicine , Naturopathy, Physiotherapy and Medical Lab Technology, Homeopathy , Ayurveda, Dental Surgery, Nursing and Unan There are 184 affiliated colleges under the University.The University has a well equipped library and sophisticated computer center.
