North-Eastern Hill University is a Central University that was established in 1973 by an act of Parliament.

North-Eastern Hill University - School of Human and Envi`t, Eco Mang & Library Info ScNorth-Eastern Hill University is located in Shillong in Meghalaya. This is the only university in the state. It is a Central University that has two campuses: Shillong and Tura.

School of Physical Science (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Science Education)
School of Social Science (History, Political Science, Law, Sociology, Cultural and Creative Studies)
School of Life Science (Biochemistry, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Botany, Zoology)
School of Humanities & Education (Education (at Shillong and Tura), English (at Shillong and Tura), Garo, Hindi, Khasi, Linguistics, Philosophy, Adult & Continuing Education, Distance Education)
School of Human & Environmental Science (Anthropology, Rural Development & Agricultural Production (at Tura), Geography, Environmental Studies)
