Manipal University is located at Manipal in Karnataka.It was established in the year 1993.Earlier several professional colleges were founded by Dr T.M.A Pai.Gradually it took shape as a University.Before the year 2006 it was known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education or MAHE.The University has got the status of deemed university from the Government of India.Apart from the main campus at Manipal the University has other campuses in Sikkim,Nepal ,Dubai and Malayasia.Students from over 51 countries study in this University.

Manipal University offers undergraduate ,postgraduate ,diploma and certificate courses in management and mass communication, medicine, biotechnology, nursing, allied health sciences, dentistry, hospitality, architecture, ,pharmacy, engineering etc through 20 constituent colleges.The university offers twinning programs in collaboration with the leading Universities of US, Australia, Germany, Nepal.

The library of the university is one of the best libraries in India.The University has also shophisticated research centers and anatomy museums.
