Kashinagara city , located in the Gajapati district of the state of Orissa, has showed a population count of 9782 .

Kashinagara is the name of a town and also `a notified area committee` that is situated in the district of Gajapati of Orissa state of Indian subcontinent.

While introspecting the demographical scenario it becomes next to impossible for any layman to know certain identifiable features of the concerned town. In order to achieve such goal, a handful of demographers have been employed in Kashinagara for conducting surveys and research works. As a result, they have succeeded in throwing some light about demographical aspects that are related to Kashinagara. A special mentioning may be made of the Census report that has been published in the year 2001. As per the report , the total population of Kashinagara showed a measurement of 9782. Interestingly, it has been noticed that number of females is more than males. To be specific, 49 percent constitutes of male populace. Female populace constitutes of 51 percent. Also the children who are below six years of age constitutes of 13 percent of the population of Kashinagara.

Few lines about the literacy condition of Kashinagara also have been mentioned in this census report. It has been noted that the average literacy rate of Kashinagara constitutes of 43 percent, which is even lower than 59.5 percent, the average literacy rate of India. A gap also exists between the male literacy rate and female literacy rate. 53 percent and 34 percent are the rates of male and female literacy of Kashinagara and India respectively.
