In the state of Tamil Nadu, a handful of towns and cities have flourished by leaps and bounds. After investigating the experts have pointed out Kasganj to be significant. Kasganj is the name of a city lying in the district of Etah of Uttar Pradesh state. In order to supervise the administration of Kasganj, a municipal board has been established.

The strategic location is significant. It lies approximately at 27.82° N 78.65° E. It rises to a height of 177 meters or 580 feet above the mean sea level. . In Kasganj the people have developed taste for chaat and shonpapdi. From Kasganj, Agra lies at a distance of near about ninety-nine km. Kasganj has been built on the state highway. Few towns in the neighborhood are Sankra in the northern part, Gangiri and Dadon in the western part, Soron in the eastern part and Marahra and Amanpur in the southern part.

In order to study identifiable features of Kasganj it becomes imperative for a person to get acquainted with its demographical scenario. Keeping pace with the trend, over the demographers have carried on surveys and research works and thus inferred the reports. In this regard, the Census report that has been issued forth in the year 2001 throw some light on population status, literacy rate etc. According to this report, the total population of Kasganj has been enumerated to be 92,485. Just like other places in India, male populace constitutes of 53 percent of the total population. Female populace is less constituting 47 percent. It automatically leads one to conclude that number of males is more than that of females. In Kasganj, children who fall in the age group of six years constitute of 15 percent of the population.

Literacy rate too acts as added information about Kasganj. As has been deciphered from the report, the average literacy rate constitutes of 61percent. Thus it is higher than that of India, which showed a count of 59.5 percent. Specifications about male and female literacy rates too can be inferred from this particular report. In other words, rate of male literacy constitutes of 67 percent. 55 percent is the rate of female literacy. The tourist quotient enhances due to growth of tourists spots. Nadrayi ka Pul is a significant one. Other premiere attractions of people of Kasganj are Sita Ramji`s temple and Tombs of Colonel Gardener and his Begum.

Access points of Kasganj are developed so that connectivity can be maintained with other places. From Kasganj, buses run to several places like Soron, Etah, Hathras and Aligarh.

Agra Civil Enclaves and Kasganj Railway Station, under the aegis of the North Eastern Railways, lie in close proximity.

Information about Etah district too has been deciphered from varied sources. Being an integral part of the district it is quite natural that Kasganj populace too is going to stride into the footsteps of the people of the entire district. Main crops that are produced here are rice, wheat, barley, jowar, bajra, maize, urd, moong, maur, gram, peas, arhar , mustard etc.
