For that reason, a handful of demographers have carried on surveys and research works and thus inferred some relevant information about Karanja city`s demography. The census report of India that has been issued forth in the year 2001 is quite significant. Data viz. population status, literacy rate can be deciphered by any one who goes through the report once. Nrusimha (Narsimha) Saraswati Gurumandir TempleLiteracy rate, a yardstick for gauging the growth and development of any place, also throws some light about Karanja`s situation. As has been identified from this Census report, Karanja has the average literacy rate of 72 percent. Thus it is even higher than that of the entire nation, which has been counted to be 59.5 percent.
