Legends related to Krangja city too are popular amongst the localites. Twice The renowned `Maratha sardar` , namely Prataprao Gujar brought about plundering into the city . No discussion on any town or city becomes complete unless and until one gets to identify its demographical scenario. For that reason, a handful of demographers have carried on surveys and research works and thus inferred some relevant information about Karanja city`s demography. The census report of India that has been issued forth in the year 2001 is quite significant. Data viz. population status, literacy rate can be deciphered by any one who goes through the report once. Nrusimha (Narsimha) Saraswati Gurumandir TempleLiteracy rate, a yardstick for gauging the growth and development of any place, also throws some light about Karanja`s situation. As has been identified from this Census report, Karanja has the average literacy rate of 72 percent. Thus it is even higher than that of the entire nation, which has been counted to be 59.5 percent. This naturally led one to conclude that Kraikudi is, more or less, a developed city. Out of it, rate of male literacy constitutes of 78 percent. Female literacy rate is less thus constituting 67 percent. Educational propensity of the people who are residing in Karanja is evident from the growth of schools and colleges over the years.
