The census town of Kantilo, is located in the Nayagarh district of Orissa state.

The state of Orissa houses numerous towns and cities that have developed in this region over the years. Amongst them one can easily distinguish Kantilo to be of great significance. Kantilo is the name of a census town. It is situated in the district of Nayagarh of Orissa state.

The strategic location of Kantilo is also quite significant. It lies approximately at 20.35° N 85 and 18° E, which also rises to a height of 65 meters or 213 feet above the mean sea level.

In order to identify a town or city in a better way, first it is essential for the person to catch hold of its demography. Towards fulfilling this goal, several demographers have been employed for conducting surveys in Kantilo town over the years. Males are more oriented to education, which has been proved from its high literacy rate. Thus rate of male literacy constitutes of 80 percent. However, in Kantilo female literacy is less, constituting 64 percent only.

Kantilo has got a serene locale, which attracts the tourists to visit here quite frequently. Besides Kantilo is a holy abode which is thronged with the temples that are devoted to deities, namely, Lord Nilamadhab and Lord Narayani . Thus being renowned as famous pilgrimage zone of high repute, a myriad of devotes mob the place in quite a large number. Brass and utensils of bell metal have become the trademarks of Kantilo.
