Shamita Shetty is the younger sister of Shilpa Shetty. Born on February 2nd, 1979, she started her acting career with the movie `Mohabbatein` in the year 2000. After the major box-office success of the movie, Shamita Shetty found her success in item songs in different movies, the most popular hit being `Sharara Sharara` in the movie "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai" in the year 2001 and `Chori Pe Chori` in Saathiya in the year 2002. Her first major box-office hit as a lead actress came with the movie `Zeher` opposite Emran Hashmi where she portrayed the character of a police officer. She also worked with her elder sister Shilpa Shetty in the movie `Fareb`.

Shamita Shetty completed her schooling from St Anthony`s Girls High School in Chembur, Mumbai. After finishing her school, she joined Sydenhams College to pursue her graduation. Her native language is Telugu; however, she is well versed in both English and Hindi as well. A dusky and sensuous actress, Shamita Shetty has yet to establish a strong foothold in the Bollywood film industry like her elder sister Shilpa; however, she has some upcoming films in her kitty that will enhance her career in the industry. Her favorite actors include Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. She loves to spend her time in playing volleyball.

Shamita portrayed the character of Riya. Manoj Bajpai played the character of Aditya as a creative director in an advertising agency. Both Manoj Bajpai and Shamita Shetty meet at a presentation where Shamita gets attracted to him. Shamita gets bowled over by the charm and personality of Manoj Bajpai and tried to seduce him time and again. Again, the movie did not do too well; however, Shamita`s performance was acclaimed both by the critics and audiences. According to the film experts she is really going to delight the audiences with some sizzling performances. With her upcoming movies, one hope that she does a good job and her acting career starts to move well like her sister.
