Bharath University is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.It was established in the year 1984. Bharath University is also known as Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research.The main objective of the University is to provide higher education in the fileld of technology and health science.In 2003 the University was given the status of deemed by the University Grant Commission.

The University has four campuses spread over different parts of Chennai and Pondicherry.These are Bharath Institute of Science and Technology, Selaiyur, Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Pondicherry, Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chromepet, and Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Pallikaranai. All the campuses contain academic buildings, administrative buidings to guest house, drawing halls, laboratories, well equipped libraries, sophisticated computer centers, auditoriums, conference halls, recreation rooms, health centers, sports facilities, canteens, hostels, placement cells etc.
