Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology

The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is set up in the city of Bhubaneshwar in 1962. It is the second oldest agricultural university in the country. The University imparts education on agriculture and conducts agriculture related research. It looks after eight constituent colleges. The College of Agriculture, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Home Science, Engineering and Technology, and Basic sciences and Humanities are located in the main campus. The College of Fisheries at Rangeilunda in Ganjam District and College of Agriculture at Chiplima in Sambalpur offers undergraduate courses in all the faculties.

The Center for Postgraduate Study offers postgraduate courses in eleven disciplines of agriculture, fourteen disciplines of veterinary science and two disciplines of agricultural engineering.

Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology From 1981 onwards the University started providing technical education with three departments. Later the Departments of Architecture, Instrumentation and Electronics were added. In 1995-96 the University started the postgraduate programme on Computer Science. At present there are six departments. They are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Instrumentation and Electronics and Computer Science.
