Located in the far northeastern part of India, Nagaland is found to have its existence in the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. Different peoples of Nagaland like the Lothas, Angami, Ao, Chakhesang and several others, Nagaland incorporates a distinct historical background.
As a result of this, museum has been built in Nagaland to preserve the rich cultural and historical heritage of the past. Today, Nagaland houses the State Museum located at Kohima displaying various objects of the past that demands a bond with the present.
