Kustai is a census town and it has been established in the district of Dhanbad of the Jharkhand state of India

The knowledge about any town is not complete without the identification of the demography in a comprehensive manner. These include data on population, literacy rate etc. As has been recorded in this report, the total population of Kustai has been enumerated to be 12,268. Kustai town has got an average literacy rate of 62 which is even higher than that of the entire nation which has been depicted to constitute of the of 59.5 percent. This conforms to the growth of the town of Kustai. Like many other Indian places and towns, there is a wide gap between the male and female literacy. In other words 72 is the rate of male literacy, while female literacy rate is as low as 49 percent.
