Located in the district of Koppal of Karnataka state, Khustagi is a panchayat town.

Following the tradition of the Indian Territory as a whole, in the state of Karnataka also there is no paucity of towns and cities. Kushtagi is significant and thus draws admiration of quite a number of people. Kushtagi is an example of a panchayat town and is located in the district of Koppal of Karnataka state, near about forty-eight km north of Koppal.

The strategic location of Kushtagi is significant. It has its location approximately between 15.77° N 76.2° E. It rises to a height of 639 meters or 2096 feet above the mean sea level.

No discussion about any place or district becomes incomplete unless and until one gets first hand knowledge about the demographical scenario. In order to enlighten people with information about Kushtagi town`s demography, several demographers have conducted numerous surveys and research works over the years. The primary attraction includes a special fair, namely `Fair of Umachandramauleshwar,` Each and every year this fair is feted at Mudanur (Mudenooru), a place adjoining to Kushtagi. Female folks play an important role. Also in the neighborhood of Kushtagi there is a village called Pura. It is being revered for the temples that are found here.

For facilitating easy commuting and transportation, the Kushtagi town has been connected by rails, highways as well as air. Hubli Airport and Koppal Railway Station lie in its vicinity. Also State Highway 30 and National Highway 13 run via Kushtagi town.
