No discussion about any place or town becomes incoherent unless and until a person gets to throw some light on the demographical scenario of Khawzawl in Mizoram. Especially the Census report of India that has been published in the year 2001 is noteworthy. Thus the total population of India has been enumerated to be 9286. Out of it, female populace constitutes of 49 percent, while the population of males is more than that of females. Thus male population comprises of 51 percent of total population of Khawzawl. Data about the status of children too can be inferred from this report. Thus the children who are below six years of age constitutes of 16 percent of the total population.
Knowing the literacy rate enables one to know how much the town has progressed or developed. So far as Khawzawl in Mizoram is concerned, it is much developed since the average literacy rate has been counted to be 78 percent. It is thus higher than that of India, which has showed a count of 59.5 percent. In addition, both the females and males of Khawzawl are oriented to education. 80 percent is the rate of male literacy, while female literacy rate constitutes of 76 percent.
