The immensely talented actress Sonali Bendre may not have made to the top of the charts in the Bollywood movies but in the film industry she is definitely remembered for her charming looks and infectious smile. Her fans are eagerly waiting for her comeback and also to display her acting skills on a grand scale once again. This actress was born on 1st January in the year 1975 and has completed her education from the Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Indian city of Bangalore. She then went onto become a model and following that ruled the Bollywood film industry for about 12 years.

Soon after the gorgeous actress took a break from her acting career and tied the knot with a third generation filmmaker Goldie Behl. She started out her career as a model before she was selected for the `Star Dust Talent Search`. She made her debut on the silver screen with the moderately hit Bollwyood flick `Aag` paired opposite the very popular Hindi film actor Govinda.

Following that she was critically acclaimed for her performances in `Duplicate`, `Zakhm`, `Hum Saath Saath Hain`, `Dil Hi Dil Main, `Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai`, `English Babu Desi Mem`, `Diljale`, `Bombay`, `Takkar`, `Keemat: They Are Back`, `Sapoot`, `Bhai`, `Tarazu`, `Humse Badkar Kaun`, `Love You Hamesha`, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega`, `Dahek: A Burning Passion`, Dhai Akshar Prem Ke`, `Jis Des Mein Ganga Rehta Hain`, `Chori Chori`, `Tera Mera Saath Rahey`, `Anaahat` and the Bollywood blockbuster `Kal Ho Na Ho`. She also made her presence felt in a score of Telegu, Tamil and Kannad films. She was honored with Star Screen Award - Most Promising Newcomer in the year 1995.

For the Bollywood flick `Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai` she was selected for Star Screen Award Best Supporting Actress in the year 2001. In the year 2004 she received the Star Screen Award, Best Actress-Marathi, for hr role in `Anaahat`. In the recent past Sonali Bendre gave birth to a baby son and is busy rearing up her kid now. She is really enjoying the new phase of her life and uses the word `fantastic` to describe the whole experience of hers. It has been a long-awaited break for her and she is thoroughly enjoying it now.

However it is good news for all the fans of Sonali Bendre that this pretty lasso has not left acting altogether. In the recent times she is doing a play titled `Aap Ki Soniya` which is regarded as a sequel to `Tumhari Amrita`. But she claims that the most memorable role in her life is that in the Marathi movie called `Anahat` directed by the great actor-turned-filmmaker Amol Palekar. She claims that she just loved doing the film and it was a great experience for her. According to Sonali Bendre the Indian Film Industry especially Bollywood has completely adopted a new look and is experimenting with films in different genres. She further added that to be in the movies of the recent times is much more comfortable than the movies of her times.

She is also delighted about the whole process of entertainment and the creation of multiplexes that has given birth to a different section of audience with a completely different mindset. She also desires to be part of such a film, which will again help in the display of her mettle in acting in front of the audiences.
