The very talented Bollywood actress Ratna Pathak is recently entertaining the audiences with her brilliant performance in the superhit comedy show `Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai`. In this soap she plays a character who always desires to have the best things in life. In fact she adds much substance to the whole show by her splendid performance. She is the daughter of the veteran Bollywood actress Deena Pathak and sister of yet another talented film and television actress Supriya Pathak. She made her acting debut on stage with her mother`s Gujarati play.

This gifted actress has not been part of any Bollywood chartbusters due to sheer luck. Ratna Pathak has all the skills that can create waves in the silver screen but she claims that she fails to understand why she is not selected for any roles in films. But that does not stop her from delivering great performances in the ventures she has been a part of so far. She provides a staunch support to her elder son who wishes to choose the profession of acting and as a mother she is very happy with his decision of venturing into the arena of acting and music. She also has a meaty role in the directorial debut of her husband `Yoon Hota Toh Kya Hota`. She is also looking forward work in some projects with her very talented sister Supriya Pathak. She has also been associated with an NGO for the last 17 years and wishes to be part of it for a long span. She also prefers to stay away from the media attention and hype and she asserts that she does not wish to be a part of any controversies.

Ratna Pathak also holds the same belief that the television serials these days have lost the charm due to the quality of the scripts. She is also of high praises of theater and claims that Indian Theater is coming up with great scripts and actors and nowadays it also pays off quite well. She is also indebted to her mother for instilling the acting traits in her. In fact it was Deena Pathak who has programmed the business of acting into her whole system. She has grown up watching her mother`s acting since a very tender age and that has probably added the acting potential that she possesses within herself. However she did not support the mediocrity in acting in which her mother had involved herself. She needs complacency as an actor and would not ever succumb to mediocrity in acting.
