The moderately hit show Malini Iyer launched the yesteryears Bollywood screen idol Sri Devi on the small screen for the first time. The daily was aired on Sahara Manoranjan from Monday to Tuesday at 9:00p.m. The renowned filmmaker Boney Kapoor produced the show. In this soap the actress plays the role of a South Indian `bahu` or daughter-in-law in a Punjabi family.

The glam doll of the yesteryears truly seems to light up the screen with her gorgeous personality adorned in typical South Indian sarees and intricately designed jewelry. The role of her husband is played by another popular small screen actor Mahesh Thakur who is his usual self. He too claimed that playing the role of Sridevi`s husband was a great experience for him. He further claimed, "Sridevi is a fabulous actress. She makes every actor on the sets comfortable. We are never given the feeling that she is a superstar".
