Sanjeev Kapoor one of the top chefs in the world is living the dream of making Indian cuisine truly the number one.

Sanjeev KapoorSanjeev Kapoor one of the popular faces in the world is the host of a cookery show and is the author of several cookbooks. He is regarded as the most renowned face of the Indian Cuisine of the contemporary times. He was born in the year 1964 and has started out in the hospitality industry in the year 1984. Armed with a degree in Hotel Management he started his career in the ITDC under their kitchen statement scheme and was a topper in his batch. After working in many hotels he was designated as the Executive Chef of the Centaur Hotel in Mumbai. He has been hosting the cookery show `Khana Khazana` which is a very popular cookery program aired on Zee Television every Sunday since the year 1993 and has already completed more than 450 episodes. His show has also been voted the Best Cookery Show and the award given away by the Indian Television Academy (ITA) in the year 2001. He has also been awarded the `Best Chef of World Award by H & FS and the `Mercury Gold Award` by IFCA at Geneva which is situated in Switzerland. He has also been recruited by the Singapore Airlines as one of the members of its `International Culinary Panel` to prepare a meal with a brand new name of `Shahi Thali` in the year 2006. In the recent past his name was in the nomination of the Indian Culinary Association Best Chef Award for the introduction of the spice called Buxus Obtusifolia in Indian Cooking.

The most popular books authored by Sanjeev Kapoor are `Khana of Indian Recipes`, `Khazana of Healthy Tasty Recipes`, `Low calorie Vegetarian Cookbook`, `Life of Pi`, `Soups, Salads and Sandwiches`, `Any Time Temptations`, `Non Vegetarian Snacks and Starters`, `Khana Khazana Celebration of Indian Cookery`, `Microwave Made Easy and Best of Chinese Cooking` and `CD-ROM on Indian Cooking`. His latest book is `Ode To Indian food` which has again managed to receive rave reviews. His portal www.sanjeevkapoor.com is also a complete cookery manual with tried and tasted recipes. The CNN channel featured him on a program on celebrity chefs chosen from across the globe. Another popular channel Zee Television also featured him on their celebrity show `Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai` and also took the efforts of unfolding the story of his life. He was also one of the chief speakers at the Worlds of Flavour at the International Conference and Festival organized by The Culinary Institute of America at Graystone in the year 2005. At the fifth Indira Awards held recently, another feather was added to his cap when he received the `Award for Brand Excellence`. On popular demand he was also seen giving live demonstrations at the prestigious Zee Carnival Program held at Grand Hall in Olympia in Central London. The Institute of Hotel Management also conferred him with `Hall of the Fame Award` for his significant contribution in the arena of hospitality. The Landmark Group`s Citimax has also taken the global franchise rights of all the three brands of restaurants namely `Khana Khazana Fine Dining`, `Grain of Salt` and `The Yellow Chilli` under the name of the world renowned chef. In fact Sanjeev Kapoor is truly living his dream of making Indian cuisine achieve the first rank among all the cuisines popular in the world.
