The lush city of Mysore is a treasure house of the archaeological museum like the Museum of Art and Archaeology.
 Fringed by verdant forest, Mysore is situated in the southern part of the Deccan Plateau. It offers places of attractions for the tourists making itself a hub. The capital of the Wodeyar dynasty, Mysore in the state of Karnataka is famous from the historical side of study.

The Museum of Art and Archaeology at Mysore is an archaeological type of museum established in the year 1972. It is exactly located in the University of Mysore in the P.G. Department of Ancient History and Archaeology.

The specimens that are exhibited in the museum are that of archaeology, excavated antiquities, sculptures, inscriptions, coins, etc.

The visiting hours of the Museum of Art and Archaeology in Mysore is from 10:30am to 5:30pm. The museum remains closed on every Sunday.
