The onus of administration of Khagaul city, located in the Patna district of Bihar, lies on a municipality.

Maintaining the tradition of Indian country several towns and places have developed over the years. The state of Bihar is not an exception in this matter. Khagaul is a significant one. It is the name of a city. Also municipality has been formed in order to look after the administration of the Khagaul city. Khagaul is located in the district of Patna of the same state of India.

Experts have opined that Khagaul is rich in historical heritage .Remembering one of the popular astronomers of the primitive India , namely Aryabhatta , an observatory has been built here.

The geographical location is also known which aids one to get some knowledge about the Khagaul city. It is situated approximately at 25.58° N 85.05° E. It has an average height of 55 metres or 180 feet.

Without describing the demography of Khagaul it is not viable to continue any study further about Khagaul town and its most prominent attributes any further. In this regard particular reference may be cited. It is the Census report that has been brought out in the year 2001. As per this record, Khagaul population depicted a measurement of 48,330 . Detailed information like population of male and female of Khagaul town are included in this report also. Thus female constitutes of 47 percent of the population of Khagaul. 53 percent constitutes of female out of the total population. Children below six years constitutes of 13 percent of the total population of Khagaul.

Literacy rate is an indicator for identifying the growth and development of Khagaul. Remarkably, the average literacy rate of Khagaul is 71 percent, which is even higher than that of the Indian Territory. Thus it has been measured to be 59.5 percent. Out of it, rate of female literacy is 65 percent. Just like its population the average literacy rate of male also is more than that of females. Percentage of male literacy is 77 percent.

In the Patna district, crops that are produced include paddy, maize, wheat, oilseeds and pulses. Industries too have been developed . Handicrafts, leather, agro procesing deserve to be mentioned. Being an integral part of the patna district it is quite natural that localites of Khagaul are going to follow the tradition to some extent.

In Khagual access points too are of great importance since they establish connectivity with this city. Patna Airport lies in close vicinity. Patna Junction Railway Station is the closest main rail line. Through this Khagual town , State Highway 2, linking up Patna with Aurangabad form the passes.
