Over the years multitudes of places and towns have grown by leaps and bounds. In this regard, the state of West Bengal is not an exception. Kendua stands apart from the rest. Kendua is a census town that has been situated in the district of Malda of West Bengal state.
Before judging the characteristics of any town or place it becomes imperative to get a glimpse of the demographical scenario of the very place. Following this trend, some demographers also have devoted time in order to gather some information regarding the demography of the Kendua town. Amongst several reports that have been brought out after a through research in the town, the census report of India needs due mentioning. Being published in the year 2001 this report is a valid document, which throws light on the demography of Kendua. According to the report, Kendua town showed a measurement of 5768.
From it, other details viz, population of males and females too can be easily deciphered. Thus population of males constitutes of 51 percent. Female population is less and it is counted to be 49 percent of the total population of Kendua. In Kendua, 13 percent of the total population is below six years of age.
Literacy rate too adds on to anybody`s knowledge about Kendua. Special attention needs to be thrown on a particular fact. It has been found out that the average literacy rate of Kendua is more than that of the whole nation. 62 percent and 59.5 percent are the rate of the average literacy of Kendua and India respectively. Out of it, rate of male literacy is 71 percent and female literacy rate is 53 percent only.
