In the state of Tamil Nadu , Kadathur , a panchayat town, is located in the Dharmapuri district.

Quite a number of towns and cities have developed in all the states of Indian subcontinent. In the state of Tamil Nadu also, there has been no paucity of cities and places. Kadathur town is a significant one. It is a `panchayat town` that has been located in the district of Dharmapuri of the same state of India.

Demographical data is significant in pointing out the characteristics of any place or town. So several demographers have worked hard in order to throw some light on the demographical scenario of the Kadathur town. The Census report of India that has been brought out in the year 2001 is quite significant in this regard. As per the report, the total population of Kadathur town has been enumerated to be 9814. Individual information about the status of males and females too can be known. Thus it is said that out of the total population of Kadathur town, males comprise of 51 percent, while the population of females is 49 percent.

In Kadathur town, 11 percent of the total population is below six years of age. Literacy rate too add on to the knowledge of the town of Kadathur. What is really interesting to note that the average literacy rate of Kadathur is higher than that of the entire nation. In other words, the average literacy rates of Kadathur and India are 66 and 59.5 percent respectively. To be specific, the rate of male literacy constitutes of 75 percent while the female literacy rate is 56 percent.
