Situated in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh , Kachhwa is a nagar panchayat which has got a population of 14,712.

 Quite a number of towns and cities have developed in every part of the vast country of India.In the sate of Uttar Pradesh also , one finds that several cities and towns have grown in large number. Amongst them , the importance of Kachhwa is quite evident. Kachhwa is a `nagar panchayat`. It is located in the district of Mirzapur of the same state of India.

The strategic location of Kachhwa also is significant thereby providing knowledge about the place to some extent. Kachhwa is situated approximately at 25.22° N 82.72° E. Kachhwa also has got an average height of 84 meters or 275 feet.

The demographical scenario of any place evidently throws some light on the identification of that place. Thus, over the years, the eminent demographers have carried on surveys and research works relating to the demography of Kachhwa as well. In this regard special mentioning can be made about the Census report that has been published in the year 2001. Important information viz. status of the population, literacy situation can be derived from this report. Thus the total population of Kachhwa has been measured to be 14,712. Out of the total population of Kachhwa , males comprise of 54 percent , while the population rate of females in Kachhwa is 46 percent. 16 percent of the population of Kachhwa is below six years of age. As far as the literacy rate of Kachhwa is concerned, the average literacy rate has been measured to be 57%, which is lower than that of the entire nation, which is 59.5 percent. To be specific, the rate of male literacy is 66 percent and female literacy rate constitutes of 46 percent.
