The popular show Dil Kya Chata Hai was on air for quite some time and explores the lives of four close friends whose joys and sorrows take a toll on their lives. In fact it is a tale on metro-sexual man. It is a half-hour weekly series which used to be broadcasted on Star One every Thursday.

The story line is also almost similar to that of the Bollywood blockbuster `Dil Chahta Hai`. The way in which they deal with their lives in a funny and lighthearted way is the main attractions of the soap. The character Ram plays a boy who hails from an opulent family while Nitin is the nerd. On the other hand the character of Akki can be described as `cool` while Raghu is a struggling actor. The various issues relating to their life and their dreams as well as their relationships and shortcomings are the main issues, around which the soap revolves. Wealth and their love-interests also play an important role in their life.

The whole show Dil Kya Chahta Hai was about the urban male and their thoughts centering their priorities in life. Their conflicts and desires were also portrayed through this show. The show tickled the funny bone of the audiences and everybody thought he was the perfect soul out among the four. The loving tale included very popular small screen actors like Samir Soni, Gaurav Chopra, Samir Sharma, Vikram Acharya and Kavita Kaushik.

It was in fact a feel good tale, which delighted the audiences to an extreme extent. Kavita plays the role of Nitin`s girlfriend in the show and is a very presumptuous girl who has a very cool approach towards life. She always loved to hang around with the boys and was always the first one to pull out in the pranks. After a while when Sameer Soni left the show she came into the show as a replacement. While stating her experience in a recent interview she said that she felt that she was back in school again.

Each character of Dil Kya Chahta Hai was well sketched and was all well defined almost accurately to the extreme point. Ram plays the role of a Casanova, which is a black spot on his pious identity. Sameer Soni playing the character of Ram just does not fit the bill but he handles the sensitive side of the character quite well. On the other hand Nitin is the most decent guy among the whole lot.

The character of Raghu in this soap is however aggressively cute and the fourth guy plays the character of the typically confused urban metro sexual. The main interest of the show lies in the demand of an anchor to being in stability in their life. Over all the show was indeed a hassle free one and was full of fun. More than that being a comedy show it was great ly welcomed by the small screen viewers who were already suffering from monotony seeing the typical `saans-bahu` flicks. It is one of the best shows, which has been aired on Star One till now.
