Aparupa ChatterjeeAparupa Chatterjee was born and raised in an artistic, musical family, which has always been an inspiration behind her. In the field of Odissi dance, today Aparupa Chatterjee is regarded as a renowend dancer to her credit. Aparupa Chatterjee began her dancing career fom a very tender age. She has been encouraged by Smt.Sharmila Basuthakur, but inducted to the dance form by Smt.Poushali Mukherjee, a disciple of Late Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra. Since then she has been carrying her performances on a regular basis.

Under the great tutelage of Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, Aparupa Chatterjee has undergone a rigorous formal and professional training in traditional art form, Odissi. After that she managed to acquire a place in the world of Odissi through her deep sense of Purity, style of Odissi and devotion towards the dance form. Guru Ratikant Mohapatra has instilled an outstanding sense of artistry and discipline into Aparupa. She has also received training under the tutelage of Late Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Khan Dagar in Dhrupad Vocal. Apart from all this artistic achievements she also possesses a good academic record in Science.

Aparupa Chatterjee is a versatile performer who possesses immense potentiality within her. Her performances reflects her perfect sense of `Tala` and `Laya` with a sprinkling of her grace and beauty. Aparupa has performed in and outside India as a soloist as well as the member of her dance school `Srijan`. Her dedication towards the dance form immensely helped her to imbibe the essence of Odissi. She has performed in the Sutanuti Festival at Kolkata and the Brahmotsava Festival at Bangalore, organised by the ISCON Guru of Aparupa Chatterjee - Ratikant Mohapatrain the year 2006.She has also performed in the Uday Shankar Dance Festival held in the year 2006 and Swabhumi Festival held in the year 2005 in Kolkata. The West Bengal Dance Federation, Kolkata in the year 2004 organised the `Stars of Tomorrow`, where she has performed. She has also bagged the precious privilege of performing with Guru Ratikant Mahapatra at the Konark Festival took place in the year 2005 and the Gundicha Festival held in the year 2006.

Aparupa Chatterjee with her charming and beautiful performances very often wooed her audiences and this helped her climbing to the heights of fame. After winning the 1st position in the Inter-Collegiate Oriental Dance Competition, that took place in the year 2000-2001, she has been awarded a gold medal by the organizer, the Calcutta University Institute, Kolkata. She was also given felicitation by Rupam Youth Choir, Dance and Music centre, Kolkata in the year 1993 after winning the All Bengal Talent Search Competition. Under the guidance of Ratikant Mohapatra, Aparupa Chatterjee successfully imbibes the style of Late Kelucharan Mohapatra, which is unique in nature.
