Pratihara Empire
The origin of the Pratihara Empire is shrouded in mystery and is laced by legends and lores.

Quite a number of people have developed in each and every state of Indian territory. The state of West Bengal too shows no dearth of places and towns as well. Hijuli is one such town that deserves to be mentioning. It is a census town and is located in the district of Puruliya of the same state. In Hijuli, 15 percent of the total population is below six years of age.

Without knowing the demography it becomes impossible to know about the situation of any particular place or town. The Census report of India that has been brought out in the year 2001 is quite significant in this matter. Data like population, literacy rate too can be inferred. The total population of Hijuli has been enumerated to be 6856. Out of the total population, males constitute of 53 percent, while females comprise of 47 percent. As far as the average literacy rate of Hijuli is concerned, it has been measured to be 61 percent, which is higher than the average literacy rate of the entire nation. Average literacy rate of India is 59 .5 percent. To be specific, male literacy rate is measured to be 71%, and rate of female literacy is 50 percent.
