Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar , Indian Freedom Fighter
Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar was a freedom fighter and well-known Parliamentarian of India.

Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar was born on January 6, 1891 at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.He graduated in English from Calcutta University in 1914.After that he obtained a degree in law from Allahabad University. Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar started legal practise at Jhansi Highcourt.He was very well versed in 11 foreign languages including Persian,German & Arabic.

Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar actively participated in the Indian freedom movement. In 1916 he joined Joined HomeRule League with Lokmanya Tilak.He was also the follower of Gandhiji.To protest the colonial rule he started Publishing `Swaraja Prapti`(in Hidi) & `Free India`( in English) in 1920. Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar wrote several revolutionary articles in these newspapers.British Government arrested him several times for active particiaption in the Freedom Struggle.In 1934 he founded `Rashtra Seva Mandal` at Jhansi and `Acharya Dhulekar Ayurvedic College`. Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar was one of the participants of the Kakori train robbery with Azad and Bismil.

As the member of congress party Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar was elected in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For revolutionary activities he was house arrested from 1939 to 1944. In 1946 he was selected as the member of the Constituent Assembly of India.At that time he was instrumental to establish Hindi as main official language of India.After independence he was elected as the member Lokh Sabha from Jhansi.He served as the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from 1958 to1964. Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar served as the speaker of Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha from 1958 to1963 .

Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar left politics to dedicate himself into Spiritualism and established Siddheshwar Vedant Peeth in 1967.He wrote several books on Spiritualism and Philosophy including Shweta-shwatrupanishad Bhashya, Prashnapanishad Saral Bhashya, Atmadarshi Geeta Bhashya Availability , Pillars of Vedant, Chaturvedanugami Bhashya, Kathopnishad Saral Bhasyha. Pandit Raghunath Vinayak Dhulekar was awarded D.Litt by Bundelkhand University in 1974.He passed away in 1980 at Jhansi.
