Lakshmi VN, Indian Dancer
Lakshmi VN, an eminent Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer has established service-oriented organization called NATYA .

Lakshmi VNMs. Lakshmi VN has been regarded as the blessed Kathak dancer with natural inborn artistic talent. She had also the privilege of opting out for the art in its dance form. At her tender age of eight, she has started learning Kathak. She has been inducted to the art under the expert tutelage of Smt. Renuka Desai. Later on, Shri Vijay Shankar Singh has taken her under his wings. He has been the well-famed Kathak exponent. Under his tutelage, Lakshmi VN under went her rigorous advanced training in Kathak. On 14th August 1987, she has performed her `Guru Deeksha` at Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidhyalaya, Jabalpur. She passed out the graduate level diploma ` Sangit Prabhakar` from Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad.

She has won several awards for her artistry dancing proficiency. Apart from that she is a regular contestant in prestigious dance festivals. To name one, the Andhra Pradesh State Youth Fest is one of the prestigious. She is `A` graded artist of the Doordarshan kendra. In the domain of Bharathanatyam, she made a propitious start under the able guidance of late Bharathanatyam legend Padmashree Vazhuvoor Ramiah Pillai. His widely known and esteemed son Kalaimamani Vazhuvoor R. Samraj later on guided her. She has participated in various programmes that were conducted by Vazhuvoor Classical Bharathanatya Art Centre, Chennai.

Lakshmi VNUnder the able direction of Guru Smt. Kanchana Janardhanan, she has continued to absorb the Vazhuvoor style. Her Arangetram (first solo performances) in Bharatnatyam took place on 31st August 1993 at Music Academy. In all major dance festivals around India, Ms. Lakshmi VN has participated. By the expert guru Shri P.R. Venkata Subramanian, she under went training in the elaboratenesses of classical music. She has learnt classical music in its both senses of construction and calculations in the laya (rhythm). Thus her fortune made her able to obtain rigidly accurate training in Nattuvangam. Lakshmi VN received her advanced training in Bharathanatyam and in Kuchipudi by the famous Natyacharya Udupi Shri. Laxminarayan and by Ambika Kameshwar respectively.

By profession, she is a dance teacher and an art critic too. Presently she is stationed at Chennai, India. Lakshmi, this multi faceted personality has also been served as the Director of `Jathiswaraalaya Academy of Dance and Music`. In the institution she tries to impart dance education to many Kathak and Bharathanatyam aspirers. With the help of highly educated professors, her institution conducts training in Classical Carnatic Music Vocal and the same on Keyboard. In addition, of the service-oriented organization called NATYA, she is the Honorary Secretary. This organization is involved in promoting and staging up-coming talents.
