Jafarpur is a census town in the North 24 Parganas District of the eastern state of India, West Bengal. It comes under the Barrackpore subdivision and the Titagarh police station looks after the law and order of the town. Kolkata, the state capital is located at a distance of about 32 km from Jafarpur. The nearest access points are the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and Sealdah Railway Station. Geographically, the town is between 22.32° North latitude and 88.23° East longitude at a height of 2 metres (6 feet) above mean sea level.
As per the Indian census report published in 2001, Jafarpur had a population of 14,032. Males and females constitute 53% and 47% of the population. In Jafarpur, 7% of the population is less than six years of age. The census report also puts forward the literacy rate of the town.
