Following the trend of most of the Indian states, West Bengal too is thronged with numerous states , cities and places. Haldibari is quite significant amongst several other cities. the total population has been enumerated to be 13,170. Female constitutes of 49 percent while the male comprises of 51 percent of the total population. Over the years , people of the Haldibari city have taken initiative to increase the productivity of crops . The region in fact is also superfluous in the production of rice as well. There are some people of Haldibari city who also have taken up professions like animal resourcing, dairy, fishery etc.
As par of the Koch Bihar culture , every year, the city dwellers of Haldibari fete several fairs and festivals with pomp and grandeur. Almost all the festivals of Bengalis like Durga Pujs , Holi, Deepavali etc are being feted in equal enthusiasm . Raas Mela is the most primeval and conventional of all fairs. Raas mela celebrations begin from the holy day of Purnima in the month of Kartik as per the Bengali calendar Each and every year people of the district including Haldibari city get themselves engross to have fun during the Raas Yatra of Sri Sri Madan Mohan Thakur.
