Deepa GaneshFor over a decade and a half, Deepa Ganesh has been performing arts in the field of Bharatanatyam. Through all her performances, skillfulness that was ingested within her was being reflected. She has won many accolade and acclaims all over India. Under the tutelage of Padmashri late K.N.Dandayudapani Pillai, Deepa`s Bharatanatyam career geared up. In the year 1981, she underwent her Arangetram. Afterward she went through training under Padmashri Adayar Sri K.Lakshmanan. She has also been specialized in Abhinaya. Padmavibhushan Smt.Kalanidhi Narayanan teaches her the Abhinaya.

Deepa is a diploma holder in dance and for her outstanding contribution in the field of Bharatanatyam Natyakalalayam awarded the title of Natya Kala Ratna to her. The Alaknanda Academy of Dance and Music, presented a scholarship in dance to Deepa Ganesh at the All India competition. On TV in India, she has been featured often and has been with official authorization distinguished as a graded artiste by Madras Doordarshan. She was awarded the Hind Gaurav Award from Mr.Arjun Singh, the then Minister for Human Resources Development. This award ceremony took place in the year 1992 to acclaim her excellence in dance. In acknowledgement of her achievements in the field of classical dance in the year 1993, she was confronted the Gem of India Award. The Government of India in the year 1994 nominated her for a National level scholarship in dance research.

Deepa GaneshDeepa Ganesh`s career of dancing spans more than two decades. Within this career span many scholars have consecrated her and dignitaries like (Late) Rukmani Devi Arundale, the founder of Kalakshetra, Padmashri (Late) Vazhuvoor Ramiah Pillai, the late Governor of Tamilnadu Shri Prabhudas Patwari, the then President of India Shri R.Venkatraman has praised her talent.

In the year1991, she started up a unique experiment of dancing to the Tani Aavartanam of the Thavil. The reputed Sri Valayapatti Subramanian played it. With this experiment she earned the admiration of the doyens of music and dance. By modifying the stress on classicism, dedication and inner beauty, Deepa Ganesh successfully has brought a change in the outlook to her creation and performed dance in Dubai. The relation between Deepa Ganesh and her students is a well-established one. At the age of 25, she has molded three youngsters for their arangetram. Deepa palpates a deep sense of thankfulness and appreciation to her Gurus for what she is today. Her quality of being adequately in Laya and Bhava has further embellished her as a dancer of a distinct style.
