An India-based satellite television channel network is Zee Network. The Zee Network broadcasts in Hindi, Urdu, and other regional languages of India. As well as the network also broadcasting in South Asia, it also reaches audiences in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, East Asia, Australasia and North America. In the month of October of 1992, Zee TV was launched in India. After that it became the dominant player in Indian Television. It became the first Hindi satellite channel. Formerly this channel had a partnership with STAR TV. When Rupert Murdoch`s News Corporation acquired STAR TV, STAR ended their partnership with ZEE TV (now ZEE Telefilms, Ltd.).

According to their official report Zee is `the largest producer and aggregator of Hindi programming in the world, with more than 30,000 hours of original programming in the library`. Today Zee is considered as one of the most popular entertainment brands in India. Within a decade of its induction, it ranked as the ninth most popular brand. With an estimated extend to 500 million viewers in all over 120 countries, Zee is considered to be the largest Indian Multiple distribution platforms. The 120 countries involve USA, Canada, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Zee has first listed Media Company in India, which launched the first Hindi movie channel, Zee Cinema. Zee is counted to be the first launcher of a 24-hour Hindi News Channel in India - Zee News, now operating as a separate company called Zee News Limited (ZNL). Zee is regarded as the first company to set up MSO operations at a national level - Siticable, now transferred its business to a separate company called Wire and Wireless (India) Limited (WWIL).

Zee Network or Zee Telefilms Ltd. owns over 20 different television channels, a cable company (SitiCable), a record label (Zee Records), a production company and other businesses as well. The Group, during 2006, acquired Integrated Subscriber Management Services Limited and it acquired 50% of interest in Ten Sports channel in November 2006.

Zee TV: Zee TV, under the supervision of the Zee Network is an India-based satellite television channel. Zee TV carries broadcasts in Hindi, Urdu, and other regional languages of India.

Zee Cinema: In India, Zee Cinema is a satellite television channel which shows Hindi movies. The popular Zee Network owns it. The Zee Cinema was formerly tied-up with STAR TV.

Zee News: Zee News is run by Zee Network and is a Hindi-language News Channel in India. It also circularizes, besides India, to the Middle East and Europe, and other parts of Asia. All types of news, including current affairs, glamour, crime, and sports are being covered by this news chaneel.

Zee Sports: Zee Networks also launched an Indian sports channel. From the Indian subcontinent, Zee Sports Americas, is a sports channel catering to the sports lovers of the South Asian population in the USA.

Zee Café: On March 15, 2000, as the name of Zee English this Indian English language television channel was launched. On March 27, 2005, it was renamed as Zee Café.

Zee Studio: It is an Indian English language movie channel and a part of the Zee Network. On March 15, 2000, the channel was launched as Zee Movies. After October, 2000, a joint venture with MGM was signed by Zee and the channel was renamed as Zee MGM. On October 1, 2004, the channel name was changed to Zee Movie Zone (ZMZ) after MGM was bought by Sony. As part of Zee Network`s revamp, on March 27, 2005, it was renamed as Zee Studio.

Zee Kannada: In May 2006, this 24 hour Kannada-language channel was launched which is possessed by Zee Network. A wide lay out of programming including series, movies, soap-operas, gameshows, talk shows and current affairs programmes are the features of this channel. Zee Kannada is a subscription channel. Thus it is available only via cable and satellite. The Kannada speaking population in India are catered by Zee Kannada.

Zee Talkies: It is a Marathi television channel that broadcasts movies by Zee Entertainment.
