Asha Agarwal, the Indian Athlete is the first Indian woman to win marathon title in Asian Championships in the year 1985.
In September 1985, at the Asian Track and Field meet in Jakarta, Asha Agarwal won the gold. She has set a record of 2 hours 48 minutes and 51 seconds, which still stands as a record. In the year 1989, she also won the Freedom Race held in Delhi. In the year 1986, she won the Trinidad Marathon and has run eight out of 26 marathons below 2 hours 50 minutes. Asha Agarwal is the first Indian woman to win marathon title in Asian Championships for the year 1985.
